⚔️ Iran Warns US to “Save What’s Left” as Trump Vows War Ends “Immediately”
U.S. forces struck a ninth Iranian oil tanker overnight as part of the campaign to cripple Tehran’s economy, and President Trump told reporters early Thursday the war “is going to end immediately” once the midterms are behind him.
Trump declared Iran “can’t hold out any longer” and said Tehran now has “very little country left,” predicting the conflict wraps up once the midterm elections are behind him.
Iran’s response came from Ebrahim Azizi, chairman of the parliament’s National Security and Foreign Policy Commission, who taunted American forces in the region: “Save what’s left of your gear and head home while you still can.”
Tehran’s military also claims it captured a U.S. unmanned submarine drone — a claim the Pentagon disputes — even as the IAEA reported Iran to the UN Security Council for nuclear noncompliance for the first time in 20 years.

🤝 Fetterman Surprises GOP Convention With Video Backing McCormick
Democratic Sen. John Fetterman broke with his party again this week, appearing in a surprise video at the Republican midterm convention to endorse Pennsylvania GOP Sen. Dave McCormick’s re-election bid.
Fetterman called himself a “commonsense Democrat” who will “always reject the extremes and socialism,” and praised McCormick as someone who “gets the job done.”
The two senators have built an unusually close bipartisan relationship since Fetterman defeated Mehmet Oz — McCormick’s old primary rival — in 2022, even launching a joint fundraising committee in July.
Fetterman has repeatedly broken from Democratic leadership on Israel, immigration and Iran policy, and has said he’d consider leaving the party if it became “the anti-Israel party.”
🏛️ Rhode Island Governor Becomes First Incumbent in 8 Years to Lose His Primary
Democratic Gov. Dan McKee lost Rhode Island’s primary to Helena Foulkes, a former CVS executive, marking the first time since 2018 a sitting governor has been denied his own party’s nomination.
Foulkes hammered McKee’s handling of the Washington Bridge, which was abruptly closed in December 2023 for structural concerns and still isn’t fully repaired.
McKee fired back by branding Foulkes an “out-of-touch corporate executive,” pointing to her tenure at CVS during its handling of prescription opioids.
It’s a rematch of the 2022 primary, when McKee narrowly edged out Foulkes by just a few percentage points.

💰 Bessent Announces Automatic Enrollment for “Trump Accounts”
Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent unveiled automatic enrollment for Trump Accounts at a Breitbart economic event, a move designed to push the child investment program from roughly 7 million enrollees to an estimated 70 million.
Each account starts with $1,000 in seed money, backed in part by a $6.25 billion commitment from philanthropists Michael and Susan Dell, plus contributions pledged by more than 50 companies.
Bessent said the goal is to make sure “everyone should have a piece of the action,” noting 38% of American households currently have no stake in the stock market.
The accounts, created under the Working Families Tax Cuts, let employers make pre-tax contributions on dependents’ behalf, though families still have to activate them to invest the funds.
🗣️ Schiff Calls Israel’s Conduct “Certainly” Ethnic Cleansing
Sen. Adam Schiff (D-CA) told an interviewer this week that while he doesn’t believe Israel’s actions in Gaza meet the legal definition of genocide, he does consider them ethnic cleansing.
“I don’t think this meets the definition of genocide, but I think it’s certainly ethnic cleansing,” Schiff said, describing Israel as using “excessive force” to clear “whole blocks of neighborhoods.”
Schiff said he’s voted against recent U.S. arms requests over the conduct, also citing the expansion of the conflict into Lebanon and settler violence in the West Bank.
He maintained that Israel has the right to exist as a Jewish state and defend itself, but argued that right doesn’t extend to the conduct he described.
