🚨 AMERICA MARKS 25 YEARS SINCE 9/11 AS TRUMP HONORS VICTIMS AT THE PENTAGON 🚨
Twenty-five years after the September 11 attacks, ceremonies are unfolding across the country this morning — at Ground Zero in New York, at the Pentagon, and in Shanksville, Pennsylvania, where United Flight 93 went down. President Trump is attending a remembrance ceremony at the Pentagon, where the White House says he will “remember those who were killed at the hands of evil terrorists, honor their loved ones, and pay tribute to the brave first responders,” while Vice President JD Vance joins former Presidents Biden, Obama, Clinton, and Bush at Ground Zero, according to Fox News’s live coverage of the day.

Before we get to today’s news, here’s what happened on this date in history. Back in 1814, American naval forces under Master Commandant Thomas Macdonough handed the British a decisive defeat at the Battle of Lake Champlain near Plattsburgh, New York — a win historians credit with helping speed along the treaty that ended the War of 1812.
Chile marked a far darker anniversary on this date in 1973, when the country’s armed forces stormed the presidential palace in a coup that toppled President Salvador Allende and ushered in Augusto Pinochet’s 17-year dictatorship.
🌟 Trump Honors Charlie Kirk on the One-Year Anniversary of His Assassination
President Trump paused his midterm push in Dallas Tuesday night to mark one year since Charlie Kirk’s assassination, telling the GOP’s midterm convention crowd — with Kirk’s widow Erika in attendance — that “a far-left extremist assassinated my great friend and conservative voice, Charlie Kirk, because Charlie Kirk spoke the truth.”
Trump said the shooting tore “the mask… off the radical left,” and argued the people who “made an excuse for it or cheered for it… are all voting Democrat.”
RNC Chair Joe Gruters used his own convention remarks to urge Republicans to “be more like Charlie Kirk.”
Kirk was killed during a campus Q&A at Utah Valley University; suspect Tyler Robinson is now awaiting trial after a Utah judge ruled the case can proceed.
💰 Trump’s $5,000 Dividend Pledge Dominates GOP Convention’s Final Night
Trump closed out the two-day “Trumpapalooza” convention in Dallas by doubling down on his promise of a $5,000 “dividend” check for every adult American if Republicans hold both chambers of Congress in November — an idea Democrats are already dismissing as an empty, $1.2 trillion campaign promise.
Rep. Robert Garcia (D-Calif.) called the pledge a lie, saying flatly, “The dividend is not happening.”
Sen. John Fetterman (D-Pa.), who surprised the crowd earlier in the convention, insisted afterward he remains “the 51st vote” for Democrats if the Senate flips.
A new Quinnipiac University poll released the same week shows Democrats leading Republicans 49-38% in House races, with just 26% approving of congressional Republicans’ job performance.

🌐 Zelensky’s Plane Nearly Struck by a Russian Drone, Norway Says
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky’s aircraft was nearly hit by a Russian drone as it took off from Moldova on Tuesday, according to Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre, who said the close call delayed Zelensky’s trip to Norway for King Harald V’s funeral.
Støre told Norwegian broadcaster NRK that “his plane was nearly hit by a drone during takeoff in Moldova.”
Former NATO chief Jens Stoltenberg, now Norway’s finance minister, said Zelensky described the incident to him personally.
Kyiv pushed back on the account as “exaggerated”; Moldova said its airspace closure was a precaution against a drone that later crashed roughly 100 miles from Chisinau’s airport.

🇬🇧 London Police Investigate Farage’s Reform Party Over Foreign Donations
London’s Metropolitan Police have opened an investigation into Nigel Farage’s Reform UK party after a Channel 4 undercover sting caught senior party aides allegedly discussing how to funnel a £500,000 foreign donation around British election law.
UK law bars political donations from anyone who isn’t a registered voter or a UK-registered company.
Reform UK says it “denies any wrongdoing and will fully cooperate with the investigation.”
Farage told his party’s conference Reform has “done nothing wrong” and “taken no illegal money,” as police say they’re still working to obtain the original Channel 4 footage.

🚨 Illegal Immigrant Charged in New Jersey Child Kidnapping and Assault
A Guatemalan national living in the U.S. illegally is facing sexual assault and kidnapping charges after allegedly breaking into a Washington Borough, New Jersey home over Labor Day weekend and assaulting a 6-year-old girl.
Lester Noe Perez-Amador, 27, allegedly abducted the girl, who was found on foot and returning home roughly an hour after she was reported missing.
DHS says Perez-Amador was previously arrested on a DUI charge in 2024 and taken into ICE custody, then “released back into the community” under the Biden administration.
Warren County Prosecutor Jessica L. Cardone said “protecting our children is a responsibility we take very seriously”; Perez-Amador is due in court October 19.
